Tony Caliente's Take

"I'd bet this one is going to fall on either the 7 or 8 for Philadelphia.  Which number is the big question?  An 8-point victory the Eagles cover.  We're not seeing oddsmakers crack the 7.  But because this one opened at sharp shops at 6.5, bookmakers had to feel Philadelphia was going to win by at least 7 points for them to all cross that number.  Bookmaker, BetOnline, Circa all hung this number for a hot minute before the sharps came in and swallowed up Philadelphia."

Winners and Whiners Prediction

"The Jaguars have serious injury problems ahead of this game. They might get Travis Etienne back, but Christian Kirk’s season is over due to a broken collarbone. Both starting guards, Ezra Cleveland and Brandon Scherff, didn’t practice on Thursday, while Tank Bigsby and wideout Gabe Davis were limited.

"I think the Jaguars will struggle to keep it close against the Eagles, who are coming off their best performance in 2024. Philadelphia will probably miss cornerback Darius Slay and tight end Dallas Goedert. But the Eagles have plenty of weapons in their arsenal and shouldn’t have any trouble beating the Jags by eight or more points.

"Both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are healthy and ready to rumble. Jacksonville has allowed a staggering 17 receiving touchdowns thus far. The Jaguars’ red-zone defense ranks 28th in the NFL."
