Betsson has again been added to Finland's blocked payment list, and it's not a great place to be.  The company is left with no way of receiving funds from customers in that country.

The National Police Board ruled against Betsson after The Supreme Court suspended the initial payment blocking ruling back in April of this year.

Accordingly, all banks, payment providers, and even crypto businesses must block all payments from Finland gamblers to Betsson.

Gambling911.com was the first site to break the news of the new ban after Head of Compliance for Legal Gaming Attorneys at Law, Antti Koivula, alerted his followers Tuesday via his LinkedIn page.

"I doubt you knew about this as it is just about to make headlines now. But our compliance retainers weren’t caught off guard—in fact, we informed them about this well in advance last week, providing detailed background information and outlining the potential ramifications.

"Our foresight didn’t start there. We first identified and analyzed this case for our retainers already back in March and provided an updated in-depth analysis in October, ensuring they stayed ahead of the curve."

The gambling company became the first to be blacklisted by the Finland government back in February of this year.  It was Koivula who broke the news back then as well.

According to the police, Betsson advertised extensively in Finland, thereby violating the country's Lottery Act, in which state-owned Veikkaus has a monopoly on gaming activities.
