It's the new year and a new poker star is here.

Who could it be?

None other than the great Chris Moneymaker's own son.

Chris announced on New Year's Eve his son has gotten into the game of poker.

"My 13 yr old son told me he going to friends house tonight to play poker. First time he has mentioned playing. Me: You want a few tips Him: na I’m good He is confident.

"He’s watched what not to do for several years. He should be good!," a follower tweeted.

"I would be excited to go play some tournaments with my son. Hopefully some fun times ahead for you guys!," another wrote.

"So cool. You can bet all the people he's playing with knows his dad is a champion!," yet another follower tweeted.

The All-American Poker Trailblazer

Born in 1975 and hailing from the heartland of Tennessee, Chris Moneymaker stands as a testament to the quintessential American tale of transformation. An accountant by trade with a flair for numbers, Chris turned a casual fascination with online poker into a defining career that would etch his name into eternity.

An Unforeseen Odyssey to Glory

Chris’s dance with destiny began modestly in 2003, when he parlayed a meager $39 online satellite investment into a seat at the most coveted poker table on Earth—the World Series of Poker Main Event. His journey from obscurity to fame wasn’t just a win, it was a seismic shift for poker enthusiasts worldwide.

A Victory for the Everyman

In a stunning battle among 839 entrants, Chris emerged not just as the champion, netting a colossal $2.5 million, but as an emblem of hope—an embodiment of the belief that anyone with determination (and perhaps a sprinkle of luck) could achieve poker stardom.
