Black Monday was kind of tame this year. Maybe it’s because three coaches were fired in-season or maybe owners are tired of paying multiple coaches at one time.

Whatever the reason is, we’ve only had two firings since the regular season ended. Both Jerod Mayo of the Patriots and Doug Pederson of the Jaguars have been fired. And Mayo was last night.

We still haven’t heard the official word in Dallas and Las Vegas and there’s always a chance there’s a surprise firing or parting of the ways.

The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag have opened odds for the next head coach of the Patriots with Mike Vrabel as a pretty big 1-4 favorite.

New England fired Jerod Mayo after just one season with poor results in a 4-13 record.

Vrabel’s name continues to dominate the freshly-openly job vacancy, hence the 1-4 odds.

Media’s Ian Rapoport shared just how the Patriots factor into the race for Vrabel.

“He had the choice of several different places,” Rapoport shared Sunday evening on NFL Network. “He chose the Jets, the Patriots’ rival, first. Two days later, the Patriots, knowing he is available with a good feeling there between Vrabel and the organization still exists, they fire Jerod Mayo.”

Brian Flores comes in with the second shortest odds at 4-1.

Ben Johnson is listed at 6-1 odds.
