Miracle: Celebrity Poker Pro James Woods Home Survives Fire
After days of believing his Pacific Palisades, California home had burned down during this week's devastating wildfires, celebrity poker pro James Woods announced via Twitter it miraculous is still standing. Everything around the sprawling property had burned.
"A miracle has happened. We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing. In this hellish landscape “standing” is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us. The view from our deck area."
As it turns out, Woods may have figured out how to deal with future wildfires.
It seems about a year ago, the actor, now poker pro, added a number of renovations to his home.
A follower of Woods explained the remodel, which includes some fire retardant components.

Firefighters raced Saturday to cut off spreading wildfires before potentially strong winds return that could push the flames toward the world famous J. Paul Getty Museum and the University of California, Los Angeles, while new evacuation warnings left more homeowners on edge.
At a briefing, CalFire Operations Chief Christian Litz said a main focus Saturday would be the Palisades Fire burning in the canyon area, not far from the UCLA campus.
“We need to be aggressive out there,” Litz said.
