The Wichita State vs. Memphis betting line opened at -14 but quickly dropped to -13 favoring the Tigers.

PJ Haggerty and No. 24 Memphis host Corey Washington and Wichita State in AAC action with the Tigers owning a 6-2 in home record.

Wichita State won the last game in this series but Memphis won the eight previous.  The most recent win by the Tigers was by just two points and both of these games were played in Memphis.  The Shockers were around a 9.5 dog in both of those.

The Shockers are 1-4 in conference play. Wichita State ranks fourth in the AAC with 35.1 rebounds per game led by Quincy Ballard averaging 8.4.

The Shockers have lost four of their last five, including their most recent game versus Eastern Carolina (72-76).

Memphis averages 78.8 points per game, 3.5 more points than the 75.3 Wichita State gives up. Wichita State has shot at a 45.8% clip from the field this season, 4.0 percentage points higher than the 41.8% shooting opponents of Memphis have averaged.

They have won five of their last six, including a 77-66 victory over Charlotte most recently.

 PJ Haggerty scored 18 points, Tyrese Hunter added 15 points and No. 18 Memphis used a strong first half to set the tone in a 77-68 win over Charlotte on Sunday.

Dain Dainja added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers (14-4, 4-1 American Athletic Conference), which bounced back from a loss to unranked Temple 88-81 on Thursday night. Haggerty, who had 21 points in the loss to the Owls, finished 7 of 14 from the field.

The Tigers and Shockers meet Thursday for the first time in conference play this season.

TOP PERFORMERS: Dain Dainja is averaging 11.7 points and 6.3 rebounds for the Tigers. Haggerty is averaging 21.9 points over the last 10 games.

Justin Hill is averaging 13.6 points and 3.4 assists for the Shockers. Xavier Bell is averaging 18.9 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 53.5% over the past 10 games.
