3 Straight Scores by Either Team Prop Bet Payout - Chiefs vs. Eagles - Super Bowl 2025

The three straight scores by either team in a Super Bowl is an especially popular prop bet.  In fact, it's a popular prop bet throughout the regular NFL season and playoffs as well.  The payout is $130 for every $100 bet should it NOT happen.

Some will equate this particular prop bet to the popular coin flip, but there's a little bit more to it than that.

The Chiefs scoring three unanswered scores might be more common if not for the fact that they are playing a very good Eagles team, and the same could be said of Philadelphia facing KC.

The reason this is favored to occur at -173 is that we've had some weeks where ten of thirteen games have had a team score 3 unanswered scores, or approximately 75% of the time.  But we get back to the competition level here.

Someone from Covers.com once provided a statistical look at the potential for this happening, which is pretty cool.

This comes up every year.  Here is how the math works:

Let's say the total is 45.  Then you probably will have about 8 scores (5 TD + 3 FG).

Assume if team A scores, then it is 60% chance for team B to score next (because they get the ball next).

After team A scores, they have a 40% * 40% chance of scoring the next two time which equals 16%.

With 8 scores there are 6 chances for this to happen.

So the chance this doesn't happen is 84% * 84% * 84% * 84% * 84% * 84% = 35%.

Halftime makes it more likely for 3 straight scores.  And if the total is higher or one team is favored by a lot, then it will be more likely to have 3 straight scores.

Here is a chart for not three straight:

3 scores in game = 84%
4 scores  = 70%
5 = 60%
6 = 50%
7 = 42%
8 = 35%
9 = 29%
10 = 25%
11 = 21%
12 = 17%
13 = 15%
14 = 12%

We just get back to the whole idea of either of these two teams allowing three unanswered scores.
