Jalen Hurts first touchdown of the game was the winner in terms of a traffic surge in-game but even gamblers appeared to have gone to bed by halftime. Kendrick Lamar's Halftime Show prop bets were among the most sought after ahead of the big game.
Robert Linnehan of Sports Betting Dime reported on a key moment during the game when wagering action hit a peak.
GeoComply was also able to calculate the moment that saw the most sports betting activity during the Super Bowl.
The moment came just before half-time, and right after the Eagles scored their third touchdown of the game. GeoComply recorded a peak of 14,300 geolocation transactions per second for the game, the most activity the Super Bowl saw all night.
GeoComply collected active account data 12 a.m. ET on Feb. 8, 2025 through the end of the Super Bowl on Feb. 9, 2025. Geolocation transactions are recorded at various stages of a user engaging with a legal sportsbook, which includes registering an account, logging in, and placing a bet.
A few more astonishing numbers to behold:
- Nearly 725,000 new online sports betting accounts created over Super Bowl weekend.
- 14% increase in online sports betting accounts during Super Bowl weekend compared with last season.
Odds are pretty good, these numbers don't even take into account the overall sports gambling market such as offshores and PPH sites used by local bookmakers.
