Anora Moves to Betting Favorite for Oscars
This year, the odds for the three most prestigious Oscars categories are closer than they’ve been in nearly two decades.
Anora, Adrien Brody and Demi Moore are all favorites for their respective awards, but none of them are higher than a 1/3 (-300) favorite, and the second-place nominees on the board are very, very close.
All in all, expect to see some upsets Sunday night at the 97th Academy Awards!
BetOnline.ag has been offering Oscars odds for the better part of 20 years, and below you can find all the current numbers that gamblers are wagering on this week.
Unlike Oppenheimer last year, it doesn’t look like there will one dominant film, and the odds have fluctuated since nominations were released in January.
The Brutalist was the early favorite on January 22, followed by Emilia Perez and then Anora at 5/1 odds. Conclave, the current film with the second-best odds, was fourth on the initial list at 7/1.
Anora moved the favorite two weeks ago, and has continued to build steam following the BAFTAs and SAG Awards.
A Complete Unknown is BetOnline’s largest liability, meaning the bookie would lose the most on that result should it win.
