The Tampa Bay Derby is a Grade III American Thoroughbred horse race for three years old horses over the distance of 1+1⁄16 miles on the dirt and this year carries a purse of $400,000.  It ranks among the more important Kentucky Derby prep races with its winners enjoying some success in the Kentucky Derby over recent years.

  •     Race 10: $200,000 Grade 3 Florida Oaks (1 1/16 miles, fillies) at 5:03 p.m.
  •     Race 11: $400,000 Grade 3 Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby (1 1/16 miles) for 3-year-old at 5:18 p.m.

"Patch Adams, a WinStar Farm homebred colt by Into Mischief, is a maiden winner who has been an odds-on favorite in all three of his races. Trained by Brad Cox, he settled for fourth place in the Southwest (G3) at Oaklawn. Florent Géroux, who had the ride in the Into Mischief colt’s first two races, will be in the irons Saturday and starting from the outside post."

Brodeur and Filoso each pay out $1500 for every $100 bet while Naughty Rascal would pay the longest odds at 20-1 ($2000 for every $100 bet).
