The Tampa Bay Derby is a Grade III American Thoroughbred horse race for three years old horses over the distance of 1+1⁄16 miles on the dirt and this year carries a purse of $400,000.  It ranks among the more important Kentucky Derby prep races with its winners enjoying some success in the Kentucky Derby over recent years.

Trained by Brad Cox, he settled for fourth place in the Southwest (G3) at Oaklawn. Florent Géroux, who had the ride in the Into Mischief colt’s first two races, will be in the irons Saturday and starting from the outside post."
