From The Guardian:

FatPirate, which advertises a welcome bonus of up to £425, has been the subject of several complaints that it prevented users from withdrawing money they had won. One UK customer claimed they had won £6,000 after spending £3,270 with their bank card but were unable to withdraw it.

Their investigative report claims that some 4 million from Europe visited five of the most popular unregulated websites between October and December of this past year.

FatPirate is not accessible from the United States.

The cashout complaints were plentiful.

Linda Blom of the Netherlands wrote on TrustPilot:

"I have won €350 euro now i am trying to cashout and i see all these bad reviews im putting this review here for everyone to see. I will only update this review if i receive my money in the next few days!"

Arch from Greece had this to offer:

"Waiting over 10 days for my payment. They always say my funds are safe and waiting for approval. Nothing happens. K communicate every day with them and they say the same thing."

Even with cryptocurrencies, which tend to be paid out in hours or at least under three days at most reputable online casinos, there are still payout issues with FatPirate.

Coco from the United Kingdom had this to say:

"Avoid! I’ve had a request for withdrawal pending now into Bitcoin for the last 7 days despite them stating withdrawals are processed within 3 days!

"Live chat are useless and furthermore they have disabled live chat on two of my devices which means I have to use a different device to get through

"The company isn’t licensed in the UK which means they are actually operating illegally. I have reached out to gambling commissioners to make the aware.

"I don’t think I will get my funds processed but if it’s not done by Friday I will do a chargeback via the bank and have them done for fraud under the good and services chargeback (I’ve done my research)

"I suggest if you’re from the UK you do the same and shut down these cowboys."

Not everyone has been put threw hoops to withdraw funds.  The site does appear to limit withdraw amounts however.

Hugofinchy of the UK writes:

"Just received my first withdrawal after 5 days had to use bank transfer shame I can only withdraw £500 a time going to withdraw 500 again helpfully quicker pay out this time. Will play again as I can do bouns buys (sic)."

The Guardian also reports that records of complaints to the gambling watchdog reveal there were at least 922 complaints about unlicensed operators in the two years up until December, according to documents obtained by Investigate Europe under freedom of information laws.
