Former LSU receiver Kyren Lacy was found dead Saturday night in Houston, an LSU official confirmed to ESPN on Sunday.  Jaques Doucet of WAFB also confirmed the news via a family member of Lacy's.

“I have confirmed with a family member that former @LSUfootball wide receiver Kyren Lacy has passed away in Houston,” Doucet reported on X, formerly Twitter.

Earlier this year, Lacy ran into legal trouble. On Jan. 12, he turned himself into authorities, was jailed and then released on $151,000 bail, according to police records. Lacy was accused of causing a crash that killed a 78-year-old man on Dec. 17 and then fleeing the scene without rendering aid or calling authorities.

Lafourche (Louisiana) Parish Sheriff's Office records indicated that Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run with death and reckless operation of a vehicle. According to WAFB-TV, a grand jury was to begin hearing evidence in the case Monday.

Lacy's NFL draft odds were uncertain due to his recent legal troubles, which had clouded his draft projection. He had previously been considered a top draft prospect.  Most sites did not provide odds for Lacy as a result.

Lacy spent the last three years of his collegiate career with LSU and finished the 2024 season with 58 catches for 866 yards and team-leading nine touchdowns. The receiver had previously declared for the 2025 NFL Draft and participated in LSU's pro day in March.
