As has become tradition the past five years, we just found out that the Super Bowl champions will kick off the 2025 NFL regular season on Thursday, September 4.  This will be the first game in NBC’s package of primarily Sunday night games.

But this matchup has more depth than we've seen in recent openers as the Philadelphia Eagles will take on their most-hated rival in the Dallas Cowboys.  This will represent the first season opener between these two foes in 25 years.  Dallas has opened with a different NFC East opponent, the New York Giants, eight times since then.

BetOnline.ag set the line for the NFC East divisional matchup at a full touchdown. The non-champs have taken two of the past three NFL openers (Lions 2023, Bills 2022).
