Marcus Bebb-Jones, a United Kingdom poker champion, could be facing charges of murdering his wife Sabrina in 1997.  He is one step closer to being extradited back to the United States according to the BBC.  The judge has sent the extradition case to the Home Secretary for a decision.

From the BBC:

He rejected the defence's argument that the sentence imposed if convicted would breach Mr Bebb-Jones's human rights.

American prosecutors claim Mr Bebb-Jones, 46, murdered wife Sabrina and then spent her money during a "playboy" weekend in Las Vegas.

Sabrina Bebb-Jones skull was found in 2004 in a Colorado national park.  Her professional poker playing husband was arrested during a raid at his home last year.

To date the extradition has been held up over concerns about a potential death penalty.

Bebb-Jones has been a well known fixture on the UK poker circuit. His Grosvenor Grand Prix victory in 2007 netted him a £90,000 pay day. He then became a regular face at Nottingham's Dusk Till Dawn poker club.
