Last week, after Penn State lost outright as 25.5-point favorites to UCLA, the oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag created lines for who would be the next full-time head coach at Happy Valley.
Was it possible for James Franklin to right the ship at that point? He did have a $50 million buyout, which made parting ways full of obstacles.
I guess losing to Northwestern at home, which was their second straight outright loss as a favorite of more than twenty points, moved each and every obstacle.
Franklin was shown the door yesterday morning with a huge parting gift…enough (Benjamin) Franklins to give his family generational wealth through the next century.
Franklin helped pull the Nittany Lions out of an awful situation, but was rarely able to beat the better teams…leaving Happy Valley without a National Championship since 1986.
So, which coach will try to bring a national championship to the amazing Penn State fans for the first time in 40 years?
The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag have updated the next coach lines and also added an additional 13 names to the board.
