Odds of this happening were set at 50-1 at BetOnline at one point.

TMZ said late Tuesday it was standing by its report.

The president had previously acknowledged that Combs and his team had reached out to him for a presidential pardon.

TMZ reported that a "high-ranking White House official" confirmed that Trump was deliberating a commutation, adding that the president "could set Diddy free as early as this week."

in a statement to USA TODAY on Tuesday, Oct. 21, a White House spokesperson said there is "zero truth" to the claims in TMZ's story. "The president, not anonymous sources, is the final decider on pardons and commutations," the official added.

Combs, who was arrested in September 2024 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, received a split verdict on July 2 that acquitted him of the most serious charges and convicted him on the two prostitution counts.
