The Dodgers head into Toronto as a -138 favorite in Game 7 of this extraordinary World Series.

While Max Scherzer (5-5, 5.19 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 82 strikeouts) is scheduled to start for the Blue Jays, LA had yet to announce a starter ahead of this one.

Scherzer is about to become the only living pitcher to start two winner-take-all Game 7s in the World Series.  Scherzer also started the last World Series Game 7 in 2019, boosted by a cortisone injection for an irritated nerve near his neck.

Los Angeles had been expected to start Tyler Glasnow before he closed out a 3-1 victory in Game 6. The 6-foot-8 right-hander is likely still available, but manager Dave Roberts could also start Shohei Ohtani for two-to-four innings on three days’ rest — which the two-way star has not done since coming to Major League Baseball in 2018.

“They are all possibilities,” Roberts said. “This is Game 7, so there’s a lot of things that people haven’t done.”

Most baseball bookmakers have action balanced on the moneyline.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have attracted the largest share of the total money wagered (handle) at various sportsbooks throughout the year at close to 30%.  As such, Toronto's success in this year's World Series has certainly been good for the books.

TOP PERFORMERS: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has 34 doubles and 23 home runs while hitting .292 for the Blue Jays. Addison Barger is 15 for 33 with three doubles and two home runs over the past 10 games.

Freddie Freeman has a .295 batting average to lead the Dodgers, and has 39 doubles, two triples and 24 home runs. Shohei Ohtani is 12 for 36 with six home runs and nine RBI over the past 10 games.
