C.J. Stroud had a total of 226.5 while Bo Nix was listed with a passing yards total of 205.5.

Stroud completed 30-of-39 passes for 318 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Texans’ 26-15, Week 8 win over the 49ers.

This was a pretty stellar game for Stroud, who wasn’t sacked once and handled pressure must better than he did on Monday night. His best throw was probably a crosser to Xavier Hutchinson for a score in the third quarter that had to be dropped right in the bucket near the sideline, giving Hutchinson room to run for the touchdown. The Texans did not punt until the fourth quarter. Next week’s game against the Broncos is ... notably not the banged-up 49ers defense. It was nice to see this kind of game in Stroud’s bag, but he’s merely a QB2 until it becomes more consistent than this.

Nix completed 19-of-29 passes for 247 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception in the Broncos’ 44-24, Week 8 win over the Cowboys.

A fifth would-be touchdown clanked off Courtland Sutton’s chest at the goal line. It is, simply, what you have come to expect by any halfway-decent outfit against the Cowboys defense. Nix didn’t take a sack, was pressured just six times, and was benched for the final series with the Broncos up 20 and less than four minutes to play. Nix had an average target distance of 12 yards. It was a beat down. Week 9 against the Texans offers two defense-first teams and Nix is probably closer to a fringe QB1 in that one.
