NBA player Chris Paul on the court

I’m tempted to quote a line from arguably one of our favorite bad movies, Cocktail…”Everything ends badly or else it wouldn’t end”.

While that’s not true all the time, it’s looking like the Chris Paul ending won’t be a glorious one.

Finishing his career in his adopted hometown of Los Angeles helping a stacked Clipper team fighting for a title would have been an amazing swan song.

Alas, every move the Clippers have made in the offseason has failed miserably and they sit tied for 13th in the Western Conference at 5-16. Oh, and the Thunder have a pick swap with them this year!

Paul has a handful of DNP-CD next to his name in the boxscore for the first time in his career. And as of Thursday morning (December 4, 2025), the Clippers released Paul in a shocking move.

I can’t imagine the Point God goes out like that. He played all 82 games last year for the Spurs and still can be an asset on the right team.

The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag have opened odds for the team that Chris Paul signs with.

There remains no clear cut favorite.

Technically, the Cleveland Cavaliers come in as the favorite at 3-1.

They are followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder at 4-1, Memphis Grizzlies at 5-1 and Houston Rockets at 6-1.

Cleveland reportedly has some desire to improve its backcourt while the Thunder have a history with Paul.

These odds are subject to change.
