The Battle of the Sexes exhibition can be bet on at BetOnline with Nick Kyrgios coming in as the -4.5 favorite vs. Aryna Sabalenka at -4.5. Sabalenka pays $340 for every $100 bet with a win on the moneyline. The total is set at 17.5.
"Battle of the Sexes” refers to exhibition tennis matches staged between a male player and a female player. The original match took place in 1973 between Billie Jean King and. Bobby Riggs. King beat Riggs 6–4, 6–3, 6–3 in front of ~30,000 fans in Houston and a massive TV audience.
World number one Sabalenka will face Kyrgios in a revamped Battle of the Sexes exhibition match on Sunday night at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena, featuring modified rules.
It will take place on a smaller court for Sabalenka while featuring single serves for both players.
The match begins at 11 am ET.
“I think my chances are really high. I’m very confident in my ability.” Kyrgios said he enjoys doing “things that are outside the box” and acknowledged he’s a bit nervous but excited for the event.
“I think she’s the type of player who genuinely thinks she’s going to win… She is not gonna beat me," he added.
“I’m proud to represent women’s tennis and to be part of this modern take on the iconic Battle of the Sexes match," Sabalenka said. "I have a lot of respect for Nick and his talent, but make no mistake, I’m ready to bring my A-game.”
