Kentucky Republican Congressman Thomas Massie claimed over the weekend that a superPAC backed by a Vegas casino titan purchased a massive television ad buy against him.

After the death of her husband, Sheldon Adelson, in 2021, Miriam Adelson became the majority owner of Las Vegas Sands.  She is also a majority owner of the Dallas Mavericks.  Adelson is no fan of Massie's.

The congressman tweeted

"Within hours of the Epstein file release, a superPAC funded by Israel-first billionaires Miriam Adelson, Paul Singer, and John Paulson, who himself appears in Epstein’s black book, bought another $800,000 of TV ads against me. I’ll still win, but if I lose, it was worth it."

Massie has been at the forefront of pushing to have all documents (files) involving the late convicted sex trafficker and financier, Jeffrey Epstein, released.

The Kentucky congressman has cited Paulson’s name as appearing in Epstein’s contact book during public remarks about the release of the Epstein files.  It is important to point out that having one's name appear in these files or contact book does not mean the individual committed any wrongdoing, had a close relationship with Epstein, or was involved in his criminal activity.

The US Justice Department announced on Friday the release of 3.5 million responsive pages in compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act that became law late last year.

The Justice Department noted that "this production may include fake or falsely submitted images, documents or videos, as everything that was sent to the FBI by the public was included in the production that is responsive to the Act. Some of the documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election. To be clear, the claims are unfounded and false, and if they have a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already."

Adelson is one of the most influential pro-Israel donors in U.S. politics while Massie opposes nearly all foreign aid, including aid to Israel.

Adelson could be throwing away money.

Based on prediction markets like Polymarket, Thomas Massie has a 74% chance of winning the KY-4 Republican primary on May 19, 2026.
