Canada vs. USA hockey

It's an early morning event in North America but Canadians and those in the US are still placing their wagers as the 2026 Winter Olympics come to a close.

It's Team USA vs. Team Canada in Ice Hockey.

The United States Men’s Hockey team has been waiting for revenge on Canada since the overtime loss in the finals of the incredible 4 Nations Face-Off, which appropriately replaced the 2025 NHL All-Star Game.

BetOnline posted well over a dozen prop betting options as this match was going off at 8 am ET.

The tournament was a revelation and these fierce players represent their countries with immense pride.

Canada was a slight favorite over at BetOnline.ag to win the gold.

Nearly $12 million had been traded at the prediction market Kalshi just prior to the start of this match with more action expected once in progress.

Team Canada received some bad news ahead of Sunday as Sidney Crosby was announced as not playing in the men’s gold medal hockey game , four days after suffering an apparent right knee injury.

Crosby’s status was revealed just over an hour before puck drop when the lineups came out. Crosby skated in a closed-to-reporters practice Saturday, according to coach Jon Cooper and other players.

Being without the two-time Olympic gold medalist and three-time Stanley Cup champion was a huge loss for Canada.

Connor McDavid was again set to wear the captain’s “C” in Crosby’s absence. McDavid leads all Olympic players with 13 points over five games.

A gold medal would still mean everything to the players and coaches involved, but it feels right to have the two border rivals as the last teams standing in Milan.

“If you’re going to get through to your goal, you’re going to probably have to go through them at some point,” U.S. winger Matthew Tkachuk said. “They’ve had the success in pretty much all the Olympics that NHL players have been going to. Two great teams, and I can only speak for ourselves, we’re just so excited for this opportunity, honored to represent our country and honored to be in this position.”
