The NFL started honoring Defensive Player of the Year in 1975 with Mel Blount winning the inaugural award.
Despite so many legendary football players, only two guys have won the award three times. Here they are:

Two times: Bruce Smith, Lawrence Taylor, Mike Singletary, Myles Garrett, Ray Lewis, Reggie White
