Sentimental Value

Sentimental Value is a slight favorite to win the Best International Feature Film award at this year's Oscars.  The payout is $10 for every $21 bet (that $21 is refunded just as long as the film wins and you profit $10).

This award category is to recognize feature-length films produced primarily outside the United States with mostly non-English dialogue.

Sentimental Value is directed by Joachim Trier, who co-wrote it with Eskil Vogt. It follows sisters Nora (Renate Reinsve) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas) in their reunion with their estranged father Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård). It also stars Elle Fanning.

Sisters Nora and Agnes reunite with their estranged father, Gustav, a once-renowned director who offers Nora a role in what he hopes will be his comeback film. Nora turns it down, but soon discovers he's given the part to an eager young Hollywood star. The two siblings must now navigate a complicated relationship with Gustav while dealing with an American actress dropped right into the middle of their complex family dynamics.

The Secret Agent comes to us from Portugal.

The film follows Armando (Wagner Moura), a former professor caught in the political turmoil in the midst of the Brazilian military dictatorship, attempting to flee persecution and resist an authoritarian regime. The supporting cast includes Carlos Francisco, Tânia Maria, Robério Diógenes, Gabriel Leone, Maria Fernanda Cândido, Alice Carvalho, and Udo Kier in his final film role.  It is directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho.
