Six Speed
  • Renegade his this year's horse to beat, but at 5-1 odds, signalling just how competitive this year's Kentucky Derby is expected to be

  • Six Speed is the favorite to finish dead last with a payout of $16 for every $4 bet

We’re inching towards “The Run for the Roses” and there is no clear favorite at BetOnline.ag to win the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby.

Renegade has the shortest odds at 5/1 and 2025 Derby winning jockey, Junior Alvarado, will ride the fourth favorite Chief Wallabee (7/1).

Additionally, the oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag have opened lines for which horse will finish last and apparently Six Speed needs at least seven or eight.

Six Speed is a 2026 Kentucky Derby contender (post 17, 50-1 odds) known for high cruising speed, coming off a second-place finish in the UAE Derby

Trained by Bhupat Seemar, this Kentucky-bred son of Not This Time is expected to be a primary pacesetter but has questions regarding his ability to stretch his speed to the 1¼-mile distance, hence his favorite status to finish dead last.

But, hey, we just finished the NFL Draft and you all may have heard of "Mr. Irrelevant".  That is in reference to the very last man selected in the Draft.  A few years back, "Mr. Irrelevant" was none other than Brock Purdy, who would go on to lead his San Francisco 49ers into the Super Bowl. So let's not judge Six Speed just yet.

There are also odds for the Kentucky Oaks with Meaning as the favorite.
