Emerging Markets

Emerging Market will pay $1100 for every $100 bet to win the 2026 Kentucky Derby.

With very limited experience, Emerging Market did win one of the biggest prep races, the Louisiana Derby.

He nudged out Pavlovian, who sits at 51-1 odds to win the Kentucky Derby.

Emerging Market was the 2-1 favorite to win and was ridden by one of the top jockeys, Flavien Prat, whose official record is 1 win from 8 mounts in the Kentucky Derby.  In his last five Kentucky Derby starts since 2020, Prat has finished outside of the top four only once. .

Other Pros

  • Emerging Market is in peaking form heading into the Derby.
  • Can adapt depending on pace (sit mid-pack or closer).

Other Cons

  • Jumping into a 20-horse Derby field is a big leap.
  • Limited exposure to large, crowded races.
