Sporttrade, the online sports betting market, announced this weekend that its web-based business will cease effective May 25, 2026. It is the latest casualty of the regulated U.S. sports gambling industry.
In recent months, Sporttrade had been struggling with the economics and regulatory framework around prediction markets while pursuing CFTC registration.
It has also had trouble competing with industry power houses the likes of Kalshi and Polymarket as well as traditional sports betting market leaders DraftKings and FanDuel.
The company issued instructions on how to withdraw funds from each state in which it is regulated.
Those in New Jersey will need to withdraw funds no later than the May 25 date as account access will be lost that same day.
Those customers residing in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa and Virginia will have to do so by June 25.
Effective June 26, platform access will be unavailable to everyone.
Sporttrade first launched in New Jersey on September 15, 2022.
