Two successive seasons in the bottom half of the Premier League table have cost Tottenham Hotspur both prestige and commercial ground. Igor Tudor steadied the ship after Ange Postecoglou's departure, but the squad still needs significant work if Spurs are to recover any meaningful momentum next season.
The summer window is shaping up to be one of the most consequential in recent years for the club. Several deals are already taking shape, and the breadth of the targets suggests a rebuild rather than light-touch reinforcement. Spurs' rebuild is already drawing attention in the sports betting markets, with their odds for a top-six finish next season shifting noticeably as transfer activity picks up.

Centre-back Marcos Senesi has a verbal agreement in place, which would address a position that has been one of Spurs' most pressing needs. Andy Robertson is also set to join from Liverpool, which would finally provide competition and depth at left-back. Robertson spent a decade at Anfield and, while his best years may be behind him, he brings experience and leadership qualities that a dressing room in rebuilding mode could badly use.

Joao Palhinha has spent the season on loan from Bayern Munich, and the hope among supporters is that Tottenham can turn that into a permanent arrangement. The Portuguese midfielder was one of the best players in the Premier League during his time at Fulham and has shown enough this season to suggest he can do a job at a higher level. A defensive midfielder who wins the ball and protects the back four is not a luxury for Spurs, it is a necessity, and Palhinha fits the profile as well as anyone available.
The ones generating most attention
Savinho has been linked heavily, which would add the kind of direct, carrying threat that Spurs' attack has been missing. The Brazilian winger, who spent last season on loan at Manchester City from Girona, has the pace and directness to cause problems for Premier League defences.
Alex Scott is another name being mentioned, and the connection carries real weight. The Bournemouth midfielder is a lifelong Tottenham supporter, and even scored against Arsenal this season. At 21 years old, he represents exactly the profile Spurs should be targeting: a home-grown, technically sound player with Premier League experience and room to develop further.
Further targets under consideration
Nico Paz, the Real Madrid-owned midfielder currently impressing at Como in Serie A, has attracted attention from clubs across Europe, and Tottenham are reported to be among those watching his progress. Carlos Baleba, Brighton's Cameroonian midfielder, would be a more physically imposing option in the centre of the pitch.
In goal, James Trafford is a name that has come up as a potential long-term option, while Jan Paul van Hecke, also of Brighton, would provide additional depth in central defence alongside Senesi. Bart Verbruggen, Brighton's first-choice goalkeeper, has also been mentioned as a potential target.
Perhaps the most eyebrow-raising name on the list is John Stones. The Manchester City defender has struggled for fitness and consistency in recent seasons, but the thinking behind the interest is understandable. Tottenham need senior leaders, and Stones, despite his injury record, brings Premier League title-winning experience that very few available players can offer.
A summer that has to deliver
This is not a window Tottenham can afford to get wrong. The infrastructure is there, but without consistent results on the pitch, the gap to the top six will only widen. The early movement on Senesi and Robertson suggests there is intent, and if Palhinha can be kept permanently alongside the right attacking additions, Spurs could head into 2026-27 with a squad that looks meaningfully different.
