Louisiana Runoff Odds Have Julia Letlow a Heavy Favorite While John Fleming Pays $300 on a $100 Bet

Treasurer Julia Letlow is a heavy favorite to defeat Rep. John Fleming in the Republican Louisiana Senate runoff election this weekend.

The oddsmakers at BetOnline show Letlow as a -500, or 1/5, favorite over Fleming (3/1).

The above odds indicate that Letlow has an 83% chance of advancing from the runoff.

Letlow announced she has received U.S. President Donald Trump's full endorsement for the upcoming election.

Louisiana residents have been bombarded with a barrage of attack ads from both candidates. 

“I’ve had $15 million dropped on my head in negative ads, and I understand that’s why people won’t run,” Letlow said.

“I want a good economy for Louisiana, but there are things we have to do like lowering taxes, reducing insurance rates to get better business — not by a toxic dump of carbon dioxide,” Fleming said, referencing what he called “Julia Letlow and Jeff Landry’s method” of pursuing economic growth.
