Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs is vying for another term, hoping to replicate her 2022 victory over Kari Lake. Meanwhile, the Republican primary will eventually pit Representative Andy Biggs against Hobbs. The incumbent is a solid favorite to stay in her seat.  The ballot is also packed with several pivotal House contests.  Most of Tuesday's Arizona primary races do feature heavy favorites.

Iran-US Ceasefire Not Until End of August the Earliest Say Prediction Markets

A desalination facility and power plants caught on fire and suffered serious damage in Kuwait after new Iranian strikes targeted the crucial facilities, along with areas of Bahrain and Jordan, following a 10th-consecutive night of US bombing.  “Massive fires” broke out on two tankers that “took an unsafe route” in the Strait of Hormuz, says Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.  Prediction markets are giving the chance of a ceasefire by August 31 at 56%. Will US crude oil reserves fall to 300 million by August 28 had a 96% chance at the prediction markets while 285M was seeing the most volume but given a 66% chance of occurring.

Las Vegas DraftKings Employee Arrested for Alleged Participation in College Prop Scheme

Tuesday July 21, 2026 (9:20 am EDT) 

A Las Vegas DraftKings employee was arrested on allegations that he participated in a college proposition bet scheme with four others, including a Fresno State basketball player, according to court documents.  Las Vegas Justice Court records showed Samuel Silverman was charged with commission of a fraudulent act in a gaming establishment and conspiracy to cheat at a gambling game. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 4.   Silverman is one of five people accused of participating in a sports betting ring involving a basketball player from Fresno State, according to court documents. An arrest report stated the Nevada Gaming Control Board began investigating after the NCAA asked for help identifying a better who placed suspicious bets.
