There were three primary games during Week 2 of the NFL that the bookies had to win. The Indianapolis late minute 3 point win and Green Bay Packers pulling away from the Detroit Lions during the final minutes helped solidify the deal for gamblers, while the bookies were saved by a Washington Redskins win over New Orleans.
Another important game with a little less one-sided action than the aforementioned was the New York Giants vs. St. Louis Rams. Once again, the gambling public had this one right.
Gambling911.com predicted correctly that The Redskins would beat the New Orleans Saints at home this week and both Green Bay and the New York Giants would easily win as well. We did not have an opinion on the Colts vs. Vikings game since we agreed with the posted line and felt this one could go either way. As it turns out, the line was right on the money.
Oakland's upset over Kansas City helped the books somewhat. Buffalo managing to cover in Jacksonville did not.
Gambling911.com believed that the Kansas City line was way too low, and now we know better....the Chiefs are going to be as hideous as advertised this season. Oakland got its first win of the season. Maybe it had something to do with reports that the coach's job was on the line.
Likewise, Gambling911.com expected Jacksonville to beat the spread...just barely. But Buffalo pulled off the upset. Early on, there was a lot more action on the Bills. Heading into game time, the action balanced out a bit more.
Gambling911.com was thrilled with to see the Titans come through...albeit a lot stronger than we had expected them to. We had them winning. The game itself had pretty balanced action.
The Chicago/Carolina game was a push.
