OAKLAND PARK, Fla (Gambling911.com) - Kwame Antawan Moorer was found guilty on two counts of robbery with a firearm. Moorer was accused of robbing two men at gunpoint in the summer of 2022 after he followed them from the casino floor to the parking garage and back home to their Boca Raton condominium.
The conviction comes following a three-day trial, Palm Beach County State Attorney Alexcia Cox announced on Tuesday.
The victims’ wallets and cash were surrendered to Moorer, and an iPhone was also stolen during the armed robbery.
Assistant State Attorneys Jocelyn Watkins and Kyley Brown prosecuted the case. The investigation was carried out by the Boca Raton Police Department, with help from the Seminole Police Department.
Boca Raton Police said Moorer was arrested in Miami-Dade County on August 31, 2022, on a warrant for robbery with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm.
A search of publicly available Florida court and arrest records did not turn up any documented arrests for Moorer prior to his August 2022 arrest in connection with the Boca Raton armed robbery.
Neither of the vicims has been identified.
