DraftKings Second-Quarter Revenue Falls, Hurt by Promotions

The company posted a loss of $67.6 million for the second quarter, compared with a profit of $157.9 million a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of 2 cents a share.  The loss was driven by lower revenue and an increase in costs, including those tied to sales and marketing.  Revenue fell 5% to $1.44 billion, missing analyst estimates of $1.51 billion. The company attributed the decline to customer-friendly sport outcomes and increased investment in promotions to acquire customers for its sportsbook and predictions offerings. Average revenue per monthly unique payer decreased about 13%, to $132. Monthly unique payers increased 9% to 3.6 million. (source: Wall Street Journal)

Vietnam vs. Cambodia ASEAN Championship

Heavy traffic was being reported, mostly out of Vietnam, Friday morning as that country hosts Cambodia today (August 7) in the final Group A match of the 2026 ASEAN Championship (Hyundai Cup) at Mỹ Đình National Stadium in Hanoi, with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 p.m. local time.  Vietnam is a huge -2500 favorite here.

Two Men Wanted for Swindling MGM Springfield Massachusetts Casino

This story has gone viral with greater than 26,000 impressions so far.  The two men face several counts each of violating the state’s Gaming Act by “cheating or swindling” more than $10,000 but less than $75,000.  Both men were charged for an incident that occurred in 2023.  The two men are accused of trying to cash in on winning slot machine vouchers (TITO tickets) that did not belong to them.   They switched or presented those vouchers in a way that caused the casino to believe they were the rightful owners and attempted to redeem the funds, according to the complaint.  Readership is mostly coming in from our social media and referring partners across the Net.  As such, the story is not reflected in all traffic tables presented on the Gambling911.com website (at least not yet).
