Man Banned From Casino Who Deliberately Drove Car Into Patrons Outside Sentenced to Prison

LONDON, UK (Gambling911.com) - A man who deliberately drove his vehicle into a crowd outside a casino he had been banned from was just handed a prison sentence.

Nadeem Khan, 49, of no fixed abode, drove at speed towards the pavement outside the premises on Bolton Road in Bradford on 11 May, attempting to seriously harm staff and customers, according to police.

At Bradford Crown Court on Monday, he admitted to four counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of driving a mechanically propelled vehicle dangerously.

He was sentenced to three years and 11 months in prison and disqualified from driving for four years and 11 months.

Det Con Samuel Wilkinson, from West Yorkshire Police, commented on Khan's actions, saying they were "extremely dangerous and reckless and could have had fatal consequences".

"He used the car as a weapon in retaliation for being banned from the casino," he said.

"The incident has had a massive impact on the lives of the victims who should never have been subjected to this careless and selfish attack," he said.
