San Diego is About to Lose a Nonstop Flight to Las Vegas

SAN DIEGO, Calif (Gambling911.com) - Delta has announced it will be discontinuing its nonstop flight between San Diego and Las Vegas come November 8 (2026).

Orange County will lose both of its flights to and from Vegas that same date.

Delta uses an Embraer E175 out of the two airports currently.  These typically seat around 76 people.

The San Diego flight leaves at 3:51 pm and arrives in Las Vegas at 5:22 pm.

The Orange County flights depart that airport shortly before 11 am and again at 8 pm.

The move by Delta simply cuts back on available flights but does not eliminate nonstop Vegas travel as other airlines still offer nonstops.

Southwest alone schedules roughly 69 SAN–LAS flights per week, Alaska about 38, and Frontier Airlines also flies there.

John Wayne Airport in Orange County still offers choices on Southwest, which has frequent daily flights, as well as Breeze and Frontier.

Delta SkyMiles customers who regularly travel between either of the two California airports and Las Vegas will be most impacted by the loss.

Though the reduction in flights is minuscule in the grand scheme of things, the move could be a sign of looming trouble for Sin City.

Simply Flying reports that data shows that Harry Reid International Airport has been losing passengers throughout 2026. The airport handled 4.4 million travelers in July, representing a 7.6% reduction year-on-year. While international traffic rose by 6%, the overall decline was driven by domestic traffic falling by 8.7%. Across the first seven months of 2026, the airport handled 30.2 million passengers, a 6.9% decline on the same period in 2025.
