Boomer's Takes Over Two William Hill Sportsbooks

The sportsbooks at two downtown institutions, Binion’s and Four Queens, have a new operator: Boomer’s Sportsbooks. Boomer’s replaces William Hill at Binion’s and Four Queens, both owned by Terry Caudill’s TLC Casino Enterprises. The sportsbook at Four Queens is nothing fancy, with a handful of cocktail tables, TVs, a staffed betting counter and several self-service kiosks. The sportsbook at Binion’s is next to Benny’s Smokin’ BBQ & Brews. The Binion’s sportsbook has a lot more elbow room. These rooms don’t seem set up to accommodate watching sports; they’re more for taking bets and getting back to real gambling that actually adds to a casino’s bottom line. Rep. Kiley Asks AG, Treasury Secretary to Probe Youth Sports Gambling

Rep. Kevin Kiley has asked the Attorney General and Treasury Secretary to investigate offshore betting on the Little League World Series and other youth sports, warning that such gambling exploits children and may violate U.S. law. Kiley sent a letter dated Sept. 4, 2026 to Attorney General Todd Blanch and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent requesting a DOJ and Treasury inquiry into gambling on the Little League World Series. He chairs the House Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education within the Committee on Education and Workforce. At least one offshore gambling site has already said it will stop taking bets on the Little League World Series tournament only if the players are paid as they note organizers and ESPN are both benefitting financially from the offering.

Frances Tiafoe Jr. is priced at -152 to win against Alex Michelsen, who pays out $128 for every $100 bet to win their respective US Open match on Tuesday at 1 pm EDT. Tiafoe Jr. is an American professional tennis player, nicknamed "Big Foe" or simply "Foe". He has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 10, achieved in June 2023, and a best doubles ranking of No. 160, reached in November 2021. Tiafoe has won four ATP Tour singles titles across all three surfaces. Tiafoe won 7-6 (1), 6-4, 7-6 (6) over Daniil Medvedev in the fourth round of the US Open on Sunday. Tiafoe secured his third straight-set win in a row as he upset the No. 8-ranked Russian after two hours and 57 minutes on court to move into the quarterfinals. The 28-year-old American is through to the quarters in New York for the fourth time in his last five appearances at the event. Michelsen is an American professional tennis player. He has a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 30 achieved on July 14, 2025 and a best doubles ranking of No. 67 reached on June 30, 2025. Michelsen won 7-6 (6), 6-4, 6-4 over Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the fourth round of the US Open on Sunday.

FBI Probing PCB-Linked Entities, Senior Cricketer Over Alleged Match-Fixing, Gambling - The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, was warned about an alleged match-fixing and money-laundering investigation involving individuals linked to Major League Cricket team San Francisco Unicorns during his last visit to the United States, according to sources familiar with the matter. Sources said the matter was raised during Naqvi’s visit to the US, where a senior Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officer briefed him about the investigation. During the same visit, Naqvi also met FBI Director Kash Patel. According to the sources, the FBI officer told Naqvi that the investigation involved Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf and individuals associated with the San Francisco Unicorns in Major League Cricket (MLC). Coloradans Wager Nearly $1 Million a Day on Table Tennis, Raising Concerns - The Colorado Division of Gaming reports that table tennis wagers totalled $346 million last fiscal year, about $1 million a day. It’s typically bigger than soccer, hockey and golf in terms of total wagers. We did get a glimpse of just how big this was back in 2020 during the pandemic when table tennis from certain countries across the globe was the only game in town. “This is outrageous. It's crack cocaine pedaled as an innocuous, sweet sports gambling bet,” said Declan Hill, a professor at the University of New Haven, and an expert in gambling integrity investigations. Hill added that integrity concerns, possible match-fixing, is irrelevant compared to the possibility of addiction. “What the bookmakers try to do is provide a twenty- four-seven, 365 days-a-year betting product that these poor addicts are going to throw their cash down on.”
UK Regulator Weighs Easing Financial Prediction Market Ban: Times - Britain’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has weighed lifting the restriction as U.K. consumers increasingly access overseas platforms including market leaders Kalshi and Polymarket. The FCA’s public position continues to support that restriction. Its latest perimeter report said the ban remained appropriate because of the speculative nature of the contracts and the risk of consumer harm, while leaving open the possibility of further work on access or clarification of the regulatory boundary. Industry participants have been lobbying for a change, presenting officials with evidence that millions of Brits are using overseas prediction platforms, The Times reports. Some consumers bypass geographic restrictions using virtual private networks (VPNs), leaving them outside UK consumer protections. Any platform seeking to offer a broad range of contracts in the U.K. would face two regulatory hurdles. The FCA would need to permit financial event contracts, while sports and political markets fall under the Gambling Commission and would require a gambling licence, The Times reports. Maryland Casinos Generate $160 Million In Gaming Revenue During August - Casino gaming contributions to the state during August 2026 totaled $68,507,667, down 4.2% from August 2025. The August 2026 contributions included $50,163,421 to the Education Trust Fund. Casino proceeds from August 2026 also delivered nearly $8.6 million to the communities and jurisdictions where the casinos are located; $8 million to Maryland’s horse racing industry; and $1.7 million to support small, minority- and women-owned businesses.
