Russell made his starting debut on Saturday and impressed against the Group of Five foe. Russell was able to get things going both through the air and with his legs.
He was 18-for-30 passing for 256 yards during Saturday's 48-10 victory against East Carolina. He also had 13 rushes for 86 yards with one touchdown.
Minchey had an excellent Kentucky debut last Saturday, especially considering it was his first collegiate start after transferring from Notre Dame.
Against Youngstown State on Sept. 5, Minchey completed 18 of 27 passes for 301 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions as Kentucky won 45-13. He averaged 11.1 yards per attempt, wasn't sacked and added 17 rushing yards.
