OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (Gambling911.com) - Democrat James Talarico is now coming in priced at -185 to win against Republican Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate race.
This comes as a new Marist poll released on Sept. 23, 2026 shows Talarico leading 50% to 44%.
The September Marist Poll, which surveyed 1,139 Texas registered voters from Sept. 17-20, showed Talarico is receiving a majority of support among independents (55%).
However, it also found that regardless of whom they support, 52% of voters overall think Paxton will win the Senate race.
At the beginning of September, both candidates were in a dead heat at -110 apiece. Paxton now pays $155 for every $100 bet to win.
The last Democrat elected was Lloyd Bentsen in 1988. He won reelection with 59.2% of the vote, defeating Republican Beau Boulter.
