Texas-Tennessee (12 pm EDT): is probably the marquee betting game with action that was mostly balanced. BetMGM had 56% of tickets on Texas -5 but 55% of the money on Tennessee +5—a classic tickets-versus-money split. Tennessee is also the second-most-bet underdog to win outright at BetMGM, around +170. The market opened Texas -7 at some books and is now generally around -5/-5.5.
Ole Miss-Florida (3:30 pm EDT): has perhaps the most striking public disagreement with the point spread. Florida is favored around -3.5, yet DraftKings currently has 81% of spread tickets and 77% of spread dollars on Ole Miss +3.5. Even more striking, 84% of moneyline bets and 73% of ML money are on Ole Miss +140.
Oklahoma-Georgia (3:30 pm EDT): The Bulldogs were seeing 83% of the action as a -13.5 home favorite.
Iowa-Michigan (3:30 pm EDT): is another huge one. DraftKings is now showing a remarkable 94% of spread money on Iowa +5.5, despite only 88% of tickets. AcePerHead.com was showing Iowa getting 70% of the action both on the number of tickets and money coming in. Michigan is still the favorite. BetMGM also lists Iowa +180 as one of Saturday's five most popular outright underdog bets. It's interesting that the line has moved from Michigan -4 to -5.5 with books seemingly wanting more action on the Hawkeyes.
Oregon-USC (7:30 pm EDT): is attracting a ton of Over money. DraftKings has Oregon -3, with 71% of spread money on Oregon. But the total may be the bigger story: 86% of bets and 70% of handle are on Over 61.5. BetMGM's earlier snapshot was even more extreme on the Over.
Alabama-South Carolina (7 pm EDT): is extraordinarily one-sided: 83% of spread tickets and 96% of spread money on Alabama -12 at BetMGM. That's one of the largest handle imbalances among Saturday's significant games.

Yankees to Meet Red Sox in Playoffs for Seventh Time

Baseball's postseason will start with one of its classic rivalries: Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees. New York will host Boston in a best-of-three wild-card series at Yankee Stadium starting Tuesday, with the winner advancing to an American League Division Series against Tampa Bay. The teams are meeting for the seventh time in the postseason. "I think it's kind of been in the works here for probably the last month or so," Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Friday. "Obviously a tremendous rivalry. The [Red Sox] had a resurgent season after a really difficult start. I think they're really good. I felt that way all year. Also real confident if we play our game and pitch like we're capable of we got a good chance to move on."

Brazil Bans Online Gambling

Brazil has imposed an immediate suspension on online betting, with operators no longer allowed to accept deposits and all licensed betting websites and apps set to be blocked from October 6. Operators will be required to return all player balances by October 14, even if customers do not actively request a withdrawal. The Lula administration says the move was driven by concerns over addiction and household debt, arguing that previous regulatory measures have failed to prevent financial harm to Brazilian families. Industry groups have vowed to challenge the decision in court
