Adam Hamilton Kansas Senate Payout Odds Get a Little Shorter

TOPEKA, Kan. (Gambling911.com) - With just three weeks to go until the midterm elections, the Kansas senate race continues to get tighter.

While Roger Marshall (R) continues to be favored to win at BetOnline, his odds have shifted from -225 to -200 in recent days.  Adam Hamilton (D) had been offered at +185.  He now pays out $160 for every $100 bet with a win.

Hamilton is a well-known United Methodist pastor while Marshall has been fending off questions about his past medical billing practices.

Two former GOP governors in Kansas, Mike Hayden and Bill Graves, endorsed Hamilton, writing op-eds, giving interviews and appearing in campaign videos in which they say his opponent, incumbent Republican Sen. Roger Marshall, is no longer the right fit for the state.

“I’ve just been terribly disappointed and alarmed at the congressional level in the Republicans’ willingness to yield so easily, so readily, to this executive branch and yielding to actions that a lot of Americans don’t think make a lot of sense,” Graves said in an interview on Friday.

Voter registration trends offer Democrats another somewhat encouraging sign. Statewide, registered Republicans outnumber registered Democrats, 45% to 26%. But recent months have suggested some energy on the Democratic side: Democrats outpaced Republicans in new registrations by a 2-to-1 margin in August and September, according to the Kansas Secretary of State’s office.

But history does not bode well for the Democrats in the state.  Kansas has not elected a Democrat to the senate in nearly a century.

Midterm Results Odds

  • Democrats win Senate: -225
  • Republicans win Senate: +185
  • Democrats win House: -2000
  • Republicans win House: +1000
  • Democrats win House and Senate: -210
  • Democrats win House, Republicans win Senate: +185
  • Republicans win House and Senate: +1000
  • Republicans win House, Democrats win Senate: +6500
