The Los Angeles Lakers will look to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the NBA betting Western Conference Finals as they play at Phoenix on Sunday night. The Lakers won the first two games of the series pretty easily in Los Angeles but they are not taking anything for granted as the series moves to Phoenix. "They run much, much better at Phoenix," Kobe Bryant said. "So we've got to do a much better job holding them down, pacing the game. We can't play with this kind of tempo in Phoenix. It's different." Los Angeles has won four of their last six games at Phoenix and the Lakers know how to win on the road as they proved in the last NBA betting series at Utah.
Phoenix is a 2.5 point favorite with a total of 219 at SBG Global.
The Suns realize that they have to play better to get back into this NBA playoffs betting series. Phoenix head coach Alvin Gentry said that his team has to be great on Sunday night. "We've got to play great to beat them," he said. "Obviously we've got to be better defensively and what we're trying to do, and I think we will be." Gentry is also trying to get people to realize that the Suns are not out of the series just because they lost two road games. "It's just strange to me how when we won our two games against San Antonio everyone said all we did was what we were supposed to do; we won our games at home. We lose two games in L.A. and the sky is falling in," he said.
If the Suns are to win on Sunday they have to do a better job on defense as the Lakers have scored 252 points in the first two games. Playing at home at the US Airways Center should help the Suns. Phoenix went 32-9 at home this season and they were 25-15-1 at home vs. the NBA odds. The Lakers and Suns met twice in Phoenix during the regular season and each team won a game. The Suns won 118-103 back in late December while the Lakers won 102-96 in mid-March. Three of the last four games between the two teams in Phoenix have gone under the total.
