OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (Gambling911.com) - Professional sports bettor Mike Manning says he got a firsthand look at how a sports gambling betting platform treats winners differently from losers. He was interviewed by CBS News' Jim Axelrod.
Manning detailed how Caesars Sportsbook showered him with VIP perks when he was losing, then slashed his betting limits and cut him off from all those perks once he started winning.
His account adds to allegations that sports betting platforms limit the amount skilled gamblers are able to wager.
In a statement, Caesars Sportsbook said, “We don't comment on the specifics of individual customer accounts. Caesars Sportsbook is an entertainment product and we consider a variety of factors including account activity, integrity protocols, and consistency with our terms and conditions, when establishing wagering limits and determining VIP rewards and benefits. No decision is made solely on a customer's win-loss record.”

Former NBA Player Malik Beasley to Plead Guilty in Federal Sports Betting Case
Former NBA player Malik Beasley intends to plead guilty to federal charges that accused him and five others of taking part in a bribery and betting scheme, according to a court notice filed overnight Saturday. Beasley, 29, had previously pleaded not guilty to four federal counts -- bribery in sporting contests, wire fraud conspiracy, honest services wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy -- but the docket notice did not indicate what he would plead guilty to. The judge overseeing Beasley's case referred a "change of plea" to a federal magistrate in Brooklyn who will schedule a hearing at which Beasley will formally plead guilty. (read more here)

Lula Wins Re-Election in Brazil, Halting Latin America’s Rightward Shift
Leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva won Brazil's presidential election on Sunday, defeating right-wing Senator Flavio Bolsonaro in a runoff to secure a fourth non-consecutive term. It's interesting to note that Jair Bolsonaro attracted considerably more betting support than polling numbers alone might have suggested. Now we will need to see what happens with the status of online gambling in the country. On September 25, 2026, Lula signed Provisional Measure 1.394, banning online sports betting and casino games nationwide. Licensed operators were required to shut down by October 6. On October 22, Lula publicly stated that online betting would not return to Brazil under his policy.
