Troy Jackson Suddenly Surges in Polls and in Odds, Susan Collins Now Pays $240 for Every $100 Bet

AUGUSTA, Maine (Gambling911.com) - What's been a dead heat for the past few months suddenly is showing signs of a breakout favorite as the US Midterm races come down to the wire.  Democrat Troy Jackson was just made a -300 favorite to win the Maine Senate race at BetOnline.

Jackson had been a slight favorite for the last several weeks over Republican incumbent Susan Collins since he entered the race.  Collins now pays out $240 for every $100 bet should she be re-elected.

One of the primary reasons for the odds shift likely has to do with the latest poll numbers.

A final New York Times/Siena poll shows Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Jackson leading Collins in Maine by six points.  It's the largest lead Jackson has held over Collins in a New York Times poll since entering the race in July.

The poll was conducted between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1.

BetOnline just released a series of Midterm prop bets on Monday.
