The Celtics - Lakers line had fallen from Los Angeles -6 to -5 ½ heading into Monday evening.  (see odds at Bookmaker.com here)  Nearly all the online books were holding at -5 ½.

The Celtics are only the second team in NBA history to reach the finals after beating two teams with better regular season records.  The Houston Rockets did it in 1995 and won the championship.  Game One of the 2010 NBA Finals will be played on Thursday at 9 pm EST on ABC.

Bryant and his Los Angeles Lakers are in the NBA finals for the third straight season after he wrapped up a magnificent Western Conference finals with a 37-point performance in a series-clinching 111-103 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night.

The league's most-decorated franchise avoided the biggest playoff collapse in NBA history and earned a chance to hang an unprecedented 18th championship banner from the rafters, beating Orlando 96-84 on Friday night to eliminate the Magic in six games and advance to the NBA Finals.

The line could move further come Game Day with trending towards the -5 as early trends had the Celtics getting just over 60 percent of the betting action.  Boston backers may want to lock in the +5 ½ now.
