Italy was listed with 13/1 odds of winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup at betED.com

There is reason to believe that Italy will repeat its 2006 World Cup win. Goalkeeper Gigi Buffon is one of the very best in the world, possibly one of the greatest ever.

Andrea Pirlo is the midfield playmaker who makes Italy tick, much of the team's creativity and rhythm will come from him, reports Sports Illustrated.

Then there is Daniele De Rossi, another holdover from 2006, Toto' Di Natale, and Alberto Gilardino just to name a few.

The defense, traditionally a strong point for the Azzurri, does not look as solid as in years past, partly through age, partly through injury, Sports Illustrated points out.

Paraguay looks to be the stiffest competition in the group.

Italy is the -190 favorite to win Group F while Paraguay would pay out around US$26 for every US$10 bet.
