Despite a lackluster performance to date, England still had 2010 World Cup odds that would pay out US$90 for every US$10 bet at Sportsbetting.com (see website here)   England must beat Slovenia to have any shot of moving into the next stage of the World Cup.

England boss Fabio Capello said of Slovenia: "This is a really good squad. I think if... no, not if, when we win, then all the teams have to fight against us."

But Capello is not thinking of merely qualifying from Group C, according to the Sun newspaper, he is looking ahead to the final in Johannesburg on July 11.

He insisted: "I'm not crazy when I said my target is the final of the World Cup."

England is a -263 (1.38) favorite to beat Slovenia, a team that continues to lead the Group C pack following a draw with the US and win over Algeria before that.

The British bookmakers have been making a killing off of England and hope they advance to the next round even though most of the money will be on the home team in Wednesday's match.
