Colorful head coach of the Argentina World Cup team Diego Maradona had hinted he might no longer want to keep his position following an embarrassing loss to Germany in the quarter finals.

But Argentina had played remarkably well up to that point and even became a favorite to win the 2010 FIFA World Cup outright.  Maradona was a thrill to watch throughout the event.

British bookmaker William Hill listed Maradona as a 4-7 odds favorite to still be coaching Argentina when they play their friendly match against Ireland on the 11th of August.

‘Maradona was given a heroes' welcome on returning home to Buenos Aires, and we think the support he received from the public is likely to persuade him to stay on,' said williamhill.com spokesman Tony Kenny ‘However, we are talking about Diego Maradona - so god knows what's going through his head.'

‘Maradona draws huge media attention wherever he goes - so it would be great news for Ireland and the new stadium sponsors if he stays in charge.'

Will Maradona still be in charge of Argentina for their match against Ireland on the 11th August: (William Hill bet): 4-7 Yes, 5-4 No
