(Associated Press) - Gov. Chris Christie has extended deadline for a commission he created to deliver its report on ways to fix New Jersey's troubled gaming, sports and entertainment industries.

The report, originally to be done by July 1, is now due on Aug. 1.

The panel was ordered to examine what to do with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority. The authority oversees the Meadowlands sports complex, the Izod Center, the Xanadu retail and entertainment complex, and the state's horse racing industry.
