An ongoing investigation into some French footballers alleged involvement in a teen prostitution ring has resulted in further questioning by authorities.
Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema were being questioned by French police Tuesday in connection with an alleged underage prostitution ring, French police said.
The case emerged earlier this year after police raided a night club near the Champs Elysees in Paris and detained 18 girls on suspicion of prostitution.
One girl, Zahia Dehar, claimed to have had sex with some of the French footballers, including Ribery, but admitted she did not disclose her age to any of them.
In an initial court hearing on the case, Ribery admitted he had sex with Dehar but insisted he did not know she was a minor. Benzema has made no public comment.
Ribery, who is a convert to Islam and, following his conversion, adopted the name Bilal Yusuf Mohammed. He is married with two daughters.
