UB.com Texas Hold ‘Em Celebrity Poker Classic With Annie Duke
The leading online poker site is sponsoring this year’s Lecavalier Poker Charity event on September 10th, plus players can get involved by competing in the site’s $10 buy-in Second Sundays online fundraiser on September 12th.
UB has joined NHL Tampa Bay Lightning legend Vinny Lecavalier to help raise much-needed funds for the fight against pediatric cancer. The UB sponsored Vincent Lecavalier Celebrity Poker Classic will be held at 7pm on Friday, September 10th at the Derby Lane, St. Petersburg, Florida, followed up two days later by UB’s Second Sundays online charity tournament; all money raised will benefit the new Vincent Lecavalier Pediatric Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, one of the largest of its kind in Florida, providing cutting edge technology, teaching, and research along with the latest in patient care.
Team UB’s Annie Duke and Joe Sebok will head to “St. Pete” in the Sunshine State to represent the online poker room. They’ll be part of the program of added attractions for top tier sponsors and VIP Pass Holders.
“This was such an incredible no-brainer for us to get involved. Being able to help out is a privilege for Annie and myself, and when you throw in benefiting children it's just all that much better. I just hope I don't get body-checked if I put a bad beat on one of the Lightning players," said Team UB’s Sebok.
The Lecavalier Texas Hold ‘em Tournament, a $550 buy-in event ($100 rebuys) is tipped to draw over 40 sports and entertainment celebrities to the tables, and offers a $100,000 prize pool. $750 tickets are also available for purchase, which gets a player a seat at a once-in-a-lifetime poker training Boot Camp with Duke and Sebok. If you can’t make it to Florida to show your support, don’t despair, because UB is gearing up to deliver another awesome ‘Second Sundays’ online fundraiser, with all proceeds donated to the same great cause, the Vincent Lecavalier Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. The September 12th $10 buy-in event at UB.com is scheduled for 14:45 ET, and will be hosted by Team UB Pro Joe Sebok. UB will match 100% of the prize pool, with all funds raised going to this month’s chosen beneficiary, plus all participants are automatically in the running for $2150 in added prizes.
The Second Sundays tournament pays out to the top ten finishers, each earning entry to UB’s weekly Sunday $200+15 buy-in $200K Guaranteed, with first place receiving a bonus wireless poker controller. There’s also a pro bounty on Sebok, and the player who sends him packing picks up a $66 entry to UB’s $7K GTD tourney at 21:30 ET on the same day.

UB’s Second Sunday fundraiser tournaments are hosted online across the CEREUS Network on the second Sunday of every month, with each one benefiting a different worthwhile national charity. Players at Absolute Poker are also invited to participate and support these events.
